Holding the title for “Best Christmas Market as a Travel Destination in 2022”, the Trier Christmas Market is well worth the visit. The main market and cathedral square are decorated in uniquely handcrafted Christmas décor. Treat yourself to local authentic German specialties as you stroll through the various vendors throughout the market. Visitors from France and Belgium particularly appreciate the original “Winzermulled Wine” from the Moselle and the “Glühviez” from apple trees in the Eifel.

This market is said to be one of the more affordable Christmas markets in the area. Additionally, it is a great place for a younger crowd.

Strasbourg Capital of Christmas, France
Whatever your age, experience a magical Christmas at the Strasbourg Capital of Christmas. There are so many different things going on at this event including the Advent Village and Christmas market. Louise Weiss Square is transformed and you’ll be able to walk through over 300 stalls under a beautiful stretch of fairy lights. Snap a photo by the majestic Great Christmas Tree, and grab a good spot to watch the dazzling live concert.
There is also a market for delicacies including traditional bredele, mannele and gingerbread. For the little ones, a manufacturing and tasting workshop is held every Wednesday afternoon. France is one of the most beautiful places to spend your Christmas, so this lively holiday market is a great option.
